David
Herron has been organizing and producing construction documents for sixteen
years and has worked with a diverse range of firms from a nationally recognized
design firm to a multi-disciplined architectural engineering firm. He has worked
with firms from the size of five people to five hundred. His project experience
ranges from small private residences to a $500 million dollar hotel and
completed multiple projects from $20-100 million dollars. From these
experiences, Mr. Herron has developed his skills in the design, diagnostics,
sustainability and construction of environmentally responsive, high performance
buildings and envelopes.

Design -
Mr.
Herron’s project experience is a varied portfolio ranging from skyscrapers that
define skylines to public projects to private residences. His design and
technical skills have resulted in numerous design awards on a local, regional
and national level. Recognitions by professional organizations such as The
American Institute of Architects, Society for Contractors are examples of his diversity of skill in
executing projects from beginning to end. His projects have national and
international publications. Mr. Herron has also served as a studio critic for
local universities and as the Chairman for the 2007 AIA- Kansas City Design
Awards. He was selected by AIA- Kansas City to participate in the inaugural
class of the 2007 Pillars Leadership Program for emerging young professionals,
and is a graduate of the Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneurial Program.

Performance –
Mr.
Herron believes that projects of the future should no longer resemble or perform
like those of the past. New and existing buildings must be designed or modified
to be environmentally responsive and energy efficient. For new buildings, Mr.
Herron has served as the Senior Project Designer of Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) Silver, Gold and Platinum Certified projects.
His Platinum project was the first in the state of Arizona, and 1 of 50 in the
United States at the time of certification. It was also recognized with the top
President’s Award in the Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Awards.
For the
diagnostics and rehabilitation of existing buildings, Mr. Herron is trained as a
Certified Building Science Infared Thermographer and in hygrothermal analysis
and building science. Mr. Herron also performs computer generated energy
analysis and has simulated energy consumption and building performance for
commercial and residential project. Mr. Herron is a member of the National
Institute of Building Science and a member of the Building Enclosure and
Technology Enclosure Council (BETEC) and is the inaugural Chairman of the
Building Enclosure Council of Kansas City. Mr. Herron also participates in the
Zero Energy Building Consortium which is developing recommendations for the
Department of Energy for Building Envelopes. He has also served as a technical
peer review for John E. Wiley and Sons publications.

Mr.
Herron’s pursuit of Design Excellence is sharing experience where sophisticated
clients and talented professionals form a partnership to ensure the best ideas
come to fruition. His experience of working closely with designers, fabricators
and craftsmen to refine design concepts and their associated details has
resulted in numerous successful works. Mr. Herron has had the opportunity to
work on projects with renowned architectural firms Foster + Partners of London,
Kohn Pederson Fox and Thomas Phifer + Partners of New York City.
