Represented wide range of clientele in state and federal courts, administrative agencies and city and county governing boards. Areas of law: corporate organization and management, employment litigation, workers compensation, federal act violation (ADA, FMLA, ERISA), landlord rights, collections, criminal and licensing. Served as administrative hearing officer for Kansas Department of Administration exclusively in water rights litigation.

General practice areas included: contract negotiation and writing, fuels, finance, worker's compensation, credit and collection, FERC, state regulatory proceedings, human resources, employment and benefits.

* Negotiated and wrote fuels contracts resulting in 400 ‑ 600 million dollars in savings to the company.
* Prevailed in FERC litigations resulting in settlement of pipeline cost issues resulting in significant savings to the company and its customers.
* Authored an American with Disabilities Act compliance manual, augmented by lectures inside and outside the corporation.

PRIVATE PRACTICE 1981‑1990

* Negotiated and drafted contract documents and implemented the oversight purchase and rehabilitation of 466 miles of railroad as General Counsel for the Mid States Port Authority.
* Represented Mid States Port Authority before the Kansas Legislature and various state and federal agencies.

* Served as a hearing examiner Pro Tem for the Kansas Commissioner Civil Rights.

Appointed by and reported to the Kansas Attorney General. Duties included general litigation on behalf of municipal, civil and state agencies.

* Represented Kansas before the Interstate Commerce Commission in the Southern Pacific acquisition of certain Rock Island properties.
* Specialized in bankruptcy, state taxation and railroad law, particularly in the Rock Island Railroad reorganization and tax matters in the U.S. District Court, Northern Illinois District.
* Worked closely with the DOT to address a multitude of rail transportation problems.
